The Madras High School White Buffalos bring Homecoming back to the home sideline this Friday, October 9, when they host the Pleasant Hill Billies in a 7 p.m. kickoff. The evening doubles as Distinguished Alumni Night, making it one of the most anticipated games of the fall season — both on the field and in the stands.
Spirit week has kept energy high across campus this week, with students participating in themed dress-up days and the traditions that mark Homecoming as the heart of the fall social calendar. The Homecoming Court will be presented on the field before kickoff, a ceremony that draws family and community members from across Jefferson County.
A Season Building Momentum
The White Buffalos enter Friday's matchup with eyes on strengthening their league standing as the regular season heads into its final stretch. The team posted a 4-5 record in the 2025-26 season and has been working to build on that foundation this fall under their coaching staff.
Pleasant Hill presents a genuine challenge — the Billies are a competitive 4A program from the southern Willamette Valley — making Friday's Homecoming game a meaningful test for the Buffalos as they look toward the postseason picture.
Volleyball Also in Action This Week
The Lady Buffalos volleyball program continues its fall schedule this week as well, with the team competing in league play as both programs keep an eye on playoff positioning heading into the final weeks of the regular season.
Come Out and Support
Homecoming is one of the nights Madras shows up as a community. Jefferson County residents are encouraged to pack the stands and cheer on the White Buffalos. Students with school activity cards are admitted free; general admission prices are set by the Madras School District athletic department.
Gates typically open about 30 minutes before kickoff. Concessions will be available, and the Homecoming Court presentation will take place on the field prior to the opening whistle.
For those who cannot make it in person, the NFHS Network streams Madras athletic events — check fan.hudl.com for broadcast details.
