One of Central Oregon’s most culturally significant annual events is upon us. The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will host their 2026 Pi-Ume-Sha Treaty Days celebration this week, with a full slate of events running from Tuesday, June 23 through Sunday, June 28. All activities are open to the public.
Pi-Ume-Sha commemorates the 1855 Treaty that established the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon, securing sovereign rights for the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Paiute peoples to fish, hunt, and gather on their ancestral lands. The celebration was founded in the late 1960s by community leaders to honor Native Military Veterans and educate the public about Tribal history.
