Mark your calendars: one of Central Oregon's most beloved annual events is less than a month away. The Airshow of the Cascades returns to Madras Municipal Airport on Friday and Saturday, August 28-29, 2026, for two full days of aerial entertainment, family fun, and local community spirit.
The event has become a signature summer gathering for Jefferson County, drawing visitors from across Central Oregon and the Pacific Northwest to watch everything from heart-pounding aerobatics to legacy military aircraft demonstrations. Ground-level attractions include a classic car show, live music, food vendors, and activities for all ages.

VFW Fundraiser Tied to Airshow
The local Veterans of Foreign Wars is running a special raffle drawing that will take place during the Airshow weekend. Proceeds support youth programs and scholarships. Tickets are available at the chamber office or through any VFW member.
A separate VFW Beef Raffle is also underway, with three winners set to receive a quarter beef donated from the 4-H/FFA Jefferson County Fair auction, courtesy of Central Oregon Ranch Supply. The raffle drawing is also scheduled to coincide with the airshow weekend.
Madras in the Spotlight
The Airshow of the Cascades has long served as an economic anchor for late-summer Madras, filling hotels, RV parks, and local restaurants for the weekend. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early, explore downtown Madras before or after the show, and support local businesses while in town.
