KWSO 91.9 has been the voice of Warm Springs for 40 years — and this summer, they're celebrating in style.

The community radio station is kicking off its 40th anniversary with a full season of events, starting this weekend with the IHC Sound Off at Indian Head Casino and continuing next week with the return of the beloved Warm Springs Thursday Market.

IHC Sound Off — This Friday, June 13

The celebration begins Friday, June 13 at the Indian Head Casino Sound Off event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. KWSO will have a booth on-site where staff will be sharing information about the station's 40th anniversary and upcoming summer activities. Community members are encouraged to stop by, visit with the KWSO team, and help kick off what promises to be a memorable summer.

Thursday Market Returns — Starting June 18

The following week, on Thursday, June 18, the Warm Springs Thursday Market returns to the Warm Springs Campus Pavilion. The market runs every Thursday through September 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The market offers fresh produce, artisan goods, community programs, and local vendors — and serves as one of the most important connectors of Warm Springs residents with healthy food options and local entrepreneurs.

Opening day will feature local beadwork and craft vendors, alongside community partners including IHS Pharmacy, OHSU, and Head Start. The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance will provide 30 free Fresh Harvest Kits on opening day.

Four Decades of Service

KWSO 91.9 has been broadcasting from Warm Springs since 1986, providing local news, tribal culture programming, emergency information, and a platform for community voices that don't always make it into mainstream media. For Jefferson County residents outside the reservation, KWSO is also one of the best sources of Warm Springs news and events.

The station streams live at kwso.org and is also available via the KWSO mobile app.

All events are free and open to the community.
