Jefferson County's young softball players are heading to the big stage. The Jefferson County Little League Senior Softball team has been crowned Oregon State Champions and will represent the state at the regional tournament in Missoula, Montana.
The state title is a major accomplishment for the team and its coaches, capping a successful season with the top honor in Oregon Little League Senior Softball competition. The regional tournament will pit the Jefferson County squad against state champions from other western states in a bid to advance further in the national bracket.
Fundraiser This Saturday in Madras
To help offset travel costs for the trip to Missoula, the community is invited to support the team at a fundraiser this Saturday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., held outside the NAPA Auto Parts store in Madras.
The event will feature:
- Car wash
- Barbecue
- Raffle
It is a chance for the whole county to show up for these athletes before they make the trip north. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting the team's travel expenses.
A County to Be Proud Of
Competitive youth sports success doesn't come without year-round dedication from players, coaches, and families. Reaching the top of the state in any sport is a testament to that hard work, and this team has done it. Jefferson County has a rich history of supporting its young athletes, and this state title adds another chapter to that tradition.
The Madras Bulletin congratulates the Jefferson County Little League Senior Softball team on their Oregon State Championship and wishes them all the best as they represent Central Oregon in Missoula.
Stop by the NAPA Auto Parts in Madras on Saturday and show your support!
