Three weeks from today, the fairgrounds off Fairgrounds Road in Madras will come alive with the sounds of livestock, rodeo crowds, and the hum of carnival rides. The Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo — the county's largest annual event — runs July 21 through July 25, 2026.

About the Fair

The Jefferson County Event Complex is a 50-plus acre facility in the heart of Madras, with more than 100,000 square feet of barn and building space spread across 20 structures. For one week every July, it transforms into the gathering place for the entire county — and draws visitors from across Central Oregon.

The fair features traditional 4-H and FFA livestock competitions, open class exhibits, a carnival midway, local food vendors, and nightly entertainment. The rodeo is a centerpiece attraction, drawing competitors and spectators for timed events, bull riding, and more.

2026 Fair Vendors

Vendor applications for the 2026 fair are available through the Jefferson County Event Complex. Food, craft, and commercial vendors interested in participating should contact the fairgrounds office to confirm availability and deadlines.

Why the Fair Matters

For a county of Jefferson County's size and rural character, the annual fair is more than entertainment. It's a celebration of the agricultural heritage that built this place. From fourth-generation seed farming families to the 4-H youth who raise animals year-round for a moment in the show ring, the fair connects Jefferson County to its roots in a way that no other event does.

The fair also carries real economic weight for the city of Madras and surrounding communities, drawing thousands of visitors over five days and supporting local businesses during what is typically the height of the summer tourism season.
