One of Jefferson County's biggest summer traditions is right around the corner. The 2026 Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo runs July 21-25 at the Jefferson County Event Complex on Fairgrounds Road in Madras — and organizers are already drumming up excitement for a full week of competition, livestock, exhibits, and entertainment.
What to Expect
The fair has been a cornerstone of Jefferson County summer life for generations, encouraging agricultural, stock raising, horticultural, mechanical, artistic, and industrial pursuits within the county. This year's event will feature:
- The All-American Rodeo, with events including bareback broncs, saddle broncs, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, cowgirl barrel racing, cowgirl breakaway roping, and team roping
- Livestock and agricultural exhibits across more than 100,000 square feet of buildings and barns set in a park-like 50-acre complex
- Youth competitions and 4-H and FFA projects
- Food vendors and local exhibitors
No Carnival in 2026
Fair organizers confirmed earlier this summer that the 2026 event will not include a carnival. While the carnival has been a longtime favorite among younger fairgoers, organizers indicated the decision was made for logistical and cost-related reasons. The rest of the fair programming remains intact.
Families are encouraged to arrive early on rodeo days, as parking fills quickly. The Event Complex is located at 430 SW Fairgrounds Road, Madras.
Rodeo Schedule
Rodeo performances are scheduled for the evening hours on Thursday through Saturday, July 23-25. Admission prices and the full schedule of events are available on the Jefferson County fairgrounds website at jeffco.net.
Get Involved
Local organizations, 4-H clubs, FFA chapters, and businesses are encouraged to enter exhibits and participate in the fair. The Jefferson County Fair has long served as a showcase for the people, products, and values that define this region — from working ranches in the high desert to the diverse communities that call Jefferson County home.
