Circle your calendars: the Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo returns July 21–25, 2026, at the Jefferson County Event Complex on Fairgrounds Road in the heart of Madras.
The fair is one of Jefferson County's most beloved annual traditions, drawing thousands of visitors from Madras, Culver, Metolius, Warm Springs, Crooked River Ranch, and beyond. The Event Complex spans more than 50 acres and includes twenty buildings and barns set in a park-like setting.
What the Fair Offers
The Jefferson County Fair is a classic Oregon county fair experience: livestock shows and competitions, carnival rides, live entertainment, 4-H and FFA exhibits, local food vendors, and the agricultural displays that reflect the county's deep farming and ranching roots.
The rodeo is a highlight of the week, showcasing the working cowboy traditions that have defined life in Central Oregon for generations. Events typically include bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and more.
A County That Earns Its Fair
Jefferson County's agricultural identity runs deep. From the irrigated potato and grain fields north of Madras to the cattle ranches near Ashwood and the high desert terrain that defines so much of the county, the fair is a celebration of the land and the people who work it.
For families with children in 4-H or FFA, the fair is often the culmination of a full year's worth of project work — animals raised, crafts made, skills developed. Exhibiting at the county fair is a rite of passage for many Jefferson County kids.
Plan Ahead
The Jefferson County Event Complex is located at Fairgrounds Road in Madras. Given the size of the fair and road construction on Highway 97 this summer, visitors are encouraged to plan their routes in advance and allow extra travel time.
