The biggest four days of the summer in Jefferson County are almost here. The 2026 Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo opens Wednesday, July 22, and runs through Saturday, July 25, at the Jefferson County Event Complex on Fairgrounds Road in Madras.

Now in its long-running tradition, the fair showcases the agricultural heart of the county — livestock exhibitions, 4-H and FFA projects, local vendors, live entertainment, carnival rides, and classic rodeo events including bull riding and barrel racing. This year's theme: Red, White & Blue — This Fair's For You!

Highlights and Schedule

  • Livestock & 4-H/FFA Exhibits — Open throughout all four days. Come see Jefferson County's young agricultural talent compete in the arena and show barn.
  • Rodeo Events — Bull riding, barrel racing, and more. Check the fairgrounds' Facebook and Instagram pages for the complete performance schedule and ticket information.
  • Carnival Rides & Fair Food — Running all four days for the whole family.
  • Historical Homestead Tours — 1–3 p.m., July 22–25. The Jefferson County Historical Society will offer free guided tours of the Farrell homestead house and the early-day schoolhouse at the fairgrounds. Board members will provide antique car rides between the two sites — a rare chance to step back into Jefferson County's pioneering history.
  • Free Snowcones in the Park — Noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.
  • Live Music & Entertainment — Performances throughout the weekend. Follow the fair's social media pages for performer announcements.

The Jefferson County Event Complex is located at 430 SW Fairgrounds Road, Madras, OR 97741, on 50-plus acres in the heart of town. Parking is available on site. Officials recommend arriving early on rodeo evenings, as crowds are typically the largest of the fair.
