Crooked River Ranch residents will not have to travel far for flu and COVID protection this fall. Jefferson County Public Health is bringing a drive-through vaccine clinic directly to the community on Thursday, October 22.

The clinic will run from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Crooked River Ranch Fire Hall, located at 6971 SW Shad Road in Terrebonne. No appointment is necessary -- residents simply drive in during clinic hours.

Vaccines Available

  • Standard flu vaccine -- recommended for all adults and children six months and older
  • High-dose flu vaccine -- specifically formulated and recommended for adults 65 and older
  • Moderna COVID-19 vaccine -- updated formulation to address current circulating strains

The drive-through format makes the process quick and convenient, allowing residents to get vaccinated without leaving their vehicles -- a particularly welcome option heading into the height of fall and winter respiratory virus season.

Why Vaccinate Now?

Public health officials emphasize that October is one of the best times to get vaccinated for flu. Protection typically builds within two weeks of vaccination, and getting vaccinated in October ensures coverage is in full effect by the time flu season peaks in November and December.

Staying current on COVID vaccination also helps protect vulnerable community members -- including older adults, immunocompromised individuals, and young children -- who face the greatest risk of serious illness.

About the Location

The Crooked River Ranch area -- a large rural residential community situated between Madras and Redmond along the Highway 97 corridor -- is served by Crooked River Ranch Fire and Rescue, which is co-hosting the event with Jefferson County Public Health.

Residents are encouraged to bring insurance cards if they have them, but vaccines will be available regardless of insurance status. For questions, contact Jefferson County Public Health before the clinic date.

This is a rare opportunity to get vaccinated close to home. Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 22, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Crooked River Ranch Fire Hall.
