Starting Monday, June 15, 2026, Cascades East Transit (CET) will implement a round of service improvements affecting riders in Madras, Redmond, and the Warm Springs corridor — the latest expansion in what has been a busy spring for regional public transportation.
New Madras-Redmond Run
Route 22, which connects Redmond and Madras, will receive a new mid-day run beginning June 15:
- An 11:30 a.m. departure from the Redmond Transit Hub
- An 11:30 a.m. pickup from the Madras DMV
CET says the improvement enhances access to destinations including Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort and strengthens connections to Route 21, the newer route that runs between Madras, Warm Springs, Kah-Nee-Ta, and Simnasho. Riders should note that the Terrebonne stop on Route 22 will remain temporarily closed due to ongoing construction at Oliver Lemon's in Terrebonne.
Redmond Service Improvements
Redmond's A and B Flex routes will shift to a new set schedule with extended hours from 6:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. — a significant extension compared to current service windows. These routes continue to offer flexible pick-up and drop-off service within one-quarter mile of the route corridor.
A new stop at the Downtown Redmond Library will be added, addressing a long-planned goal to improve access to downtown Redmond resources. The Redmond Transit Hub off Canal Boulevard will remain the primary transfer point.
Three new early-morning runs are also being added to Route 24 (Redmond to Bend):
- 5:30 a.m.
- 6:30 a.m.
- 10:00 a.m.
These trips are designed to improve transfer connections for early-shift workers and regional commuters heading into Bend via Hawthorne Station.
Route 21: The Warm Springs-Simnasho Connection
These June 15 changes build on Route 21, which launched on May 5 and quickly became a meaningful service for Warm Springs reservation communities. Route 21 connects Madras with Warm Springs, Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs Resort, and Simnasho — three times daily beginning at 6:00 a.m. out of Madras. Riders can schedule flex-route pickups or drop-offs near fixed stops by calling CET in advance.
Per KWSO Radio's earlier reporting, fares on Route 21 begin in June after a free-ride introductory period in May. Tribal members can apply for or replace Transit Bus cards on June 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Family Resource Center in Warm Springs; Tribal IDs are required.
