Mark your calendars and buy your tickets now: the 26th Annual Bright Wood Airshow of the Cascades is set to be a landmark event, with two elite jet teams scheduled to fly over Madras for the very first time in the show’s history. The event runs August 28 and 29, 2026, at the Madras Municipal Airport.
The Navy’s Growler Demo Team Lands in Madras
The U.S. Navy’s EA-18G Growler Demonstration Team has officially confirmed its appearance — and Madras is one of just four airshows nationwide selected to host the team in 2026. The two-ship formation is renowned for its precision aerobatics and raw power, showcasing the Navy’s premier electronic attack aircraft in ways that leave crowds speechless.
“The ability to secure an appearance by this Navy jet team has been in the works for over a year,” said Isaac Fisher, Board Member of the Airshow of the Cascades.
Patriot Jet Team Also Confirmed
Joining the Growlers will be the Patriot Jet Team, bringing six jets to the Madras flight line. It marks the first time in the airshow’s history that two jet teams have performed on the same weekend.
“It underscores the fact that the reputation of the airshow continues to climb nationally,” said Melanie Widmer, Board President.
WWII Warbirds and More
Beyond the jets, the Erickson Aircraft Collection will bring its nationally recognized lineup of World War II warbirds, giving aviation fans a rare look at beautifully restored aircraft from a pivotal era. The full performers lineup also includes static displays, a car show, live music, and food and vendor booths spread across the airport grounds both days.
Tickets and Raffle
Tickets are on sale now at cascadeairshow.com, with prices held steady from last year. Organizers are cautioning that several ticket packages are expected to sell out before show weekend. Youth admission options are available.
The Jefferson County VFW is also running a beef raffle with the drawing scheduled during the airshow weekend. Three winners will receive a quarter-beef donated from the 4-H/FFA Jefferson County Fair auction by Central Oregon Ranch Supply. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the chamber office or from any VFW member.
Record Attendance Expected
With two elite jet performers, iconic warbirds, and a 26-year reputation as Central Oregon’s biggest aviation event, organizers are anticipating record-breaking attendance. The Madras Municipal Airport sits at roughly 2,400 feet elevation with wide-open desert skies — one of the best natural stages for an airshow anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.
