One of Central Oregon’s most anticipated annual events is just two weeks away. The Airshow of the Cascades returns to Madras Municipal Airport on August 28 and 29, 2026, bringing two days of aerial performances, live entertainment, and family activities to Jefferson County.
Presented by Bright Wood Corporation, the airshow has become a signature summer event for the region, drawing visitors from across Central Oregon and beyond. Organizers say this year’s lineup includes aerobatic performances, vintage aircraft fly-bys, military demonstrations, and a legacy flight pairing historic and modern aircraft.
What to Expect
- Aerial performances — Aerobatics, military aircraft, glider demonstrations, helicopter rides, and a fly-in show
- Car show — Classic and custom vehicles on display both days
- Live music — Entertainment between aerial acts throughout the weekend
- Food and vendors — A wide selection of food vendors, craft booths, and exhibitors
- Blue Sky Pavilion — Premium shaded viewing area available with VIP ticket packages
VFW Raffle Drawing at the Show
The Jefferson County VFW post will hold its Rifle Raffle drawing during the airshow weekend. The prize is a Ruger American 30-06 with scope; tickets are $10 each with only 300 sold. Proceeds support VFW youth programs and scholarships. Tickets can still be purchased at the Madras Chamber of Commerce office or from any VFW member.
The VFW is also running a Beef Raffle — three winners will receive one-quarter beef each, donated by Central Oregon Ranch Supply from the Jefferson County Fair 4-H/FFA auction.

The Madras Municipal Airport is located at the east end of town off Highway 26. Gates typically open mid-morning, with aerial performances beginning around noon each day.

Check AirNow.gov or the Madras Bulletin in the days leading up to the event for the latest air quality forecast. The show traditionally proceeds unless conditions become unsafe.
