Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Enterprises held a community meeting Thursday evening at the Seekseequa Fire Hall, presenting tribal enterprise revenue projections to district members. The meeting, which began with a 6 p.m. meal before the formal presentation, was the third in a series of district-level briefings held this month — following earlier sessions at the Agency Longhouse and the Simnasho Longhouse.
Tribal enterprise representatives laid out current and projected revenue figures for the district membership, offering residents a direct look at the economic performance of the Tribes' business operations. Enterprise revenues fund a wide range of tribal services and programs across the Warm Springs Reservation.
Native Aspirations Prevention Program Expanding Services
Also this week, the September gathering of the Native Aspirations Community Prevention Meeting brought together local programs from across Central Oregon to highlight ongoing work on the reservation. The group, which typically meets the first Monday of each month at the old school cafeteria in Warm Springs, heard updates on several initiatives.
Warm Springs Health and Fitness reported expanding its activity offerings, distributing nutrition outreach materials, and developing a new personal training program for community members. The program is part of a broader effort to address chronic disease prevention and overall wellness among tribal members.
Vital Statistics Department Working Through Check Reissues
The Warm Springs Vital Statistics Department has submitted 60 check reissue packets to Accounts Payable following a round of address verification for tribal members. Reissued checks are mailed on a weekly basis.
For those who prefer a faster option: tribal members who bank locally with Mid Oregon Credit Union, U.S. Bank, or Columbia Bank can bring a signed direct-deposit form to the Vital Statistics office, and staff will personally deposit the check on their behalf. Digital payments are not yet available through the department.

GED Classes Now Underway
Fall term GED classes in Warm Springs are now in session, having started Monday, September 21, at the Education Building. Adults seeking to complete their high school equivalency are encouraged to contact the Education Department for enrollment information.
