The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs have a full community calendar this week, with events and programs running through the weekend that touch on recreation, education, and tribal governance.
Tribal Appreciation Day at Kah-Nee-Ta — Wednesday, August 5
Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, Kah-Nee-Ta Resort will hold its next Tribal Appreciation Day, offering free admission for day use from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The day pass includes access to swimming pools, mini-golf, pickleball, basketball, bocce ball, spike ball, four-square volleyball, and interactive video games. Discounts are also offered on cabana rentals, restaurant meals, and pool house store purchases.
Tribal Appreciation Days are open to tribal members, their spouses, Warm Springs residents, and tribal enterprise employees. The events are held every other Wednesday through September, making them a regular summer fixture for the community.
Board Vacancies Open — Deadline August 10
The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs is currently accepting applications for three board openings. One position is available on each of the following bodies:
- Credit Board — 1 open position
- Cannabis Regulatory Commission — 1 open position
- Warm Springs Local Housing Authority Board of Commissioners — 2 open positions
Interested applicants must submit a letter of interest, résumé, and a signed criminal and credit background check form to the office of the Secretary-Treasurer at the Tribal Administration Building no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, August 10.
Head Start Enrollment Now Open for 2026–27
The Warm Springs Head Start program has opened enrollment for the upcoming 2026–27 school year. Families interested in enrolling their young children are encouraged to contact Family Services at the Early Childhood Education Center to learn more about eligibility and the application process. Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, and family support services for income-eligible families.
Pre-College Summer Series — Wednesday Evening
Papalaxsimisha’s pre-college summer series continues this Wednesday at the old school cafeteria. Dinner is provided at 5:30 p.m., with the main session running from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The free program is designed to give students a head start on their college journey, covering financial aid, the college application process, scholarship opportunities, and one-on-one support. Students of all grades are welcome.
Summer Movie Night — Thursday, August 6
Warm Springs Prevention is hosting a free outdoor movie night on Thursday, August 6, at the campus pavilion. The movie starts around 9:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a chair or blanket. No further details on the film selection were available at press time.
Johnson O’Malley Committee Meeting Tonight
The Warm Springs Johnson O’Malley (JOM) Committee is scheduled to meet this evening, Tuesday, August 4, from 5:15 to 8 p.m. in the conference room at the Early Childhood Education Center. Commodities and Food Pantry Hours
The Warm Springs Commodities Food Bank, located at 4217 Holliday Street in the Industrial Park, is open today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Madras Community Food Pantry at 370 SW Culver Highway is also open today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
