Two community events are converging on the Warm Springs Reservation this weekend and early next week, offering residents a chance to celebrate creativity and show solidarity for cancer awareness.

33rd Annual Tribal Member Art Exhibit -- Deadline October 20

The Museum at Warm Springs is accepting final submissions for its 33rd Annual Tribal Member Art Exhibit, and the clock is ticking for artists hoping to have their work judged for prizes.

The deadline for artwork submitted for judging and prize eligibility is Tuesday, October 20, at 5 p.m. Pieces submitted for display-only purposes -- without judging -- have until Tuesday, October 27, at 5 p.m.

The annual exhibit has been a cornerstone of cultural life on the Warm Springs Reservation for over three decades, showcasing the depth and variety of artistic expression among Confederated Tribes members. Both adult and youth tribal artists are eligible to submit work.

Now in its 33rd year, the exhibit has grown into one of the most anticipated community events on the Warm Springs calendar -- a celebration of the living artistic traditions of the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Paiute peoples who make up the Confederated Tribes.

Artists interested in submitting should contact the Museum at Warm Springs directly for guidelines on accepted media, sizing requirements, and drop-off logistics. The Museum is located in Warm Springs along U.S. Highway 26.

Pinktober Fun Run/Walk -- Monday, October 19

The Warm Springs Community Wellness Center is hosting a Pinktober Fun Run/Walk on Monday, October 19 in support of community members who have battled breast cancer. Sign-ups begin at noon on the front lawn of the Community Center.

The event is open to community members of all fitness levels and ages -- a fun, accessible way to show solidarity and raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participants are encouraged to wear pink and bring family members along.

Together, these two events reflect the vibrant community life on the Warm Springs Reservation, where art, wellness, and cultural tradition remain central pillars of everyday life. All are welcome to participate and support their neighbors.
