Residents of Crooked River Ranch and surrounding communities won't have to drive far to get their fall vaccines this week. Jefferson County Public Health is hosting a drive-through vaccine clinic at the Crooked River Ranch Fire Hall on Thursday, October 22, from 3 to 6 p.m.
The clinic will be held at 6971 SW Shad Rd., Terrebonne, OR 97760 — the Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue station. No appointment is needed.
Vaccines Available
- Standard flu shot
- High-dose flu vaccine (recommended for adults 65 and older)
- COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna updated formula)
Public health officials recommend getting flu shots before the end of October. It takes about two weeks for full immunity to develop, meaning a shot this week provides solid protection well ahead of the typical December–February peak of flu season. The updated COVID-19 vaccines are similarly timed to offer protection ahead of winter respiratory illness season.
Insurance and Billing
Jefferson County Public Health does not withhold services due to lack of insurance or ability to pay. JCPH will submit a claim directly to your insurance carrier on your behalf. The department is an in-network provider with most major insurance carriers, including Medicare.
If you receive an invoice for out-of-pocket costs that creates a financial hardship, contact the JCPH billing office at (541) 475-4456.
A Convenient Stop for Ranch Residents
Crooked River Ranch, with its roughly 3,500 residents spread across the juniper hills west of Highway 97, is one of the larger unincorporated communities in Jefferson County. Drive-through clinics hosted at the fire hall have historically drawn strong turnout from the Ranch and neighboring Terrebonne-area households who might otherwise skip the trip to Madras.
